2012 Frost Protection Grower Workshops The Sonoma County Winegrape Commission will hold three meetings this month for grape growers in the Russian River watershed who use water for frost protection. The workshops will discuss how growers can comply with new State Water Control Board regulations and how to join a water demand management group and conserve water during frost season. More Information Posted January 26, 2012 National Organic Certification Cost Share Program The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Organic Program (NOP) is providing funds to assist with the cost of organic certification under the National Organic Certification Cost Share Program. The California Department of Food and Agriculture will be distributing reimbursement to operations that have been certified by a USDA accredited certifying agent. Cost Share applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. Topics will include submitting Production Agriculture Monthly PUR’s, Monthly Summary PUR’s, and Notices of Intent online. We will also cover permit and map viewing, printing, and Help resources.
