Stillwater Cove is a 363-acre park located on scenic Highway 1. The park has a short trail system that winds through majestic redwoods, ending at an historic one room schoolhouse. Stillwater Cove is a small, sheltered beach with restrooms, a boat launch and portage area. This picturesque cove is popular with kayakers, abalone divers and picnickers. The campground has 24 sites, including one hike/bike site available for intrepid bikers who brave the ride up Highway One. There is also a bathroom, coin-operated showers, and a dump station. Hosts sell firewood, answer visitors’ questions and do a little light maintenance. Reception for Dish TV is possible and a phone line is available for internet access. Pease check with your service provider to ensure you are not being charged. The summer months are busy, with the number of campers declining in the winter.

The surrounding area is beautiful, with many public coastal access points in the nearby State and Regional Parks. Fort Ross State Park, the southernmost point in the Russian colonization of California, is just a three mile drive from the park and well worth a day trip. Nearby shopping is limited, with a small general store located about one mile north of the park. Propane can be purchased at the general store along with basic necessities. For major shopping, hosts typically drive south to the towns of Guerneville or Santa Rosa, a 45 minute or 1-¼ hour journey.
