Matthew joined IOLERO in 2022 as a Law Enforcement Auditor III and brings more than 30 years of experience as an attorney, with a background in litigation, administrative law, legal analysis, and accountability practices.

County seeks community feedback for IOLERO director recruitment process
Sonoma County in early September will launch a nationwide recruitment to select the next director of the county’s Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach. Before the search begins, county officials want to allow the public the opportunity to provide input that will help frame the recruitment process.

The Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach’s Community Advisory Council is inviting the public to participate in a February 24 strategic planning workshop. The purpose of the public meeting is to set priorities for the year.
County Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach releases annual report
The Sonoma County Independent Office of Law Enforcement Review and Outreach this year audited 27 cases involving complaints against the Sheriff’s Office, according to IOLERO’s annual report that was released today and reviewed by the Board of Supervisors. Those cases included two officer-involved shootings, two in-custody deaths, and three cases involving canine use of force.
